KERNERSVILLE-- Mr. Jarvis Ray Pardue, 77, died Monday, May 13, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. Jarvis was born on February 9, 1936 in Guilford County to the late Chester and Mamie Pegram Pardue. He was a faithful member of Welcome Door Baptist Church who loved the Lord. Jarvis owned and operated W.D. Grocery in Oak Ridge for 24 years. He was a loving father and grandfather, who enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, Jarvis was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Ella Mae Hayes Pardue. Surviving are his son, Welsey Pardue (wife, Julie); his daughter, Dana Austin (husband, Josh), all of Winston-Salem; four grand children, Hannah Pardue, Isabella Pardue, Emily Austin and Owen Austin. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Welcome Door Baptist Church in Kernersville with Pastor Roger Pinnix officiating. Burial will follow at Northwest Baptist Church in Greensboro. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 15, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
