Mrs. Janie Landreth Harvey, 88, passed away Monday, June 21, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born in Rockingham County on December 29, 1921 to the late Cecil L. Landreth and Maude Cable Landreth. Mrs. Harvey was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed greatly by all who knew her. She was a member of 72 years at Stokesburg United Methodist Church in Walnut Cove and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. at Brook Cove with 35 years of service. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert ""Bob"" Harvey, a sister and four brothers. Mrs. Harvey is survived by two sons, Boyce Harvey and wife Gail of Oxford, NC and Boyd Harvey and wife Barbara of Walnut Cove, five grandchildren, Rev. Jason Harvey, Brian Harvey, Tara Roberson, David Currin and Bryan Currin, seven great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Irene Sheldon of Walnut Cove and Geraldine Smith of Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown with Rev. Jason Harvey officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. this evening June 23, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to; Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
