Janie Faye Ervin

After a sudden illness Faye passed away peacefully at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born in Charleston, SC. After high school she began her career with Southern Bell in Charleston and retired from AT&T in Columbia, SC. She developed life-long friends at the phone company and was active with AT&T Pioneers during her career and retirement. She was a giving, caring person, concerned about others in her family and community of friends. She is survived by her sisters, Doris Sweat, Carleen Williard, Miriam Hudspeth, Sonja Ervin Blake and her husband Roger; brothers Donnie ""Bud"" Ervin and wife Mary, Tommy Ervin and wife Jean, Vernon Ervin, Jack Ervin, Danny Ervin and wife Jean and Melvin Ervin; an aunt Mary Mozelle Baker and a host of cousins and nieces and nephews. A gathering of friends and family will be held in Troutman, NC on Friday April 13, 2012 from 3-6 PM at First United Methodist Church, 204 Mills Ave. Troutman, NC and in Charleston, SC on April 15, 2012 from 3-6 PM at 1035 Planters Curve Mt. Pleasant, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC.
