Janice "Boots" Kaye Phipps Head

Mrs. Janice “Boots” Kaye Phipps Head, 81, passed away Thursday July 20, 2023. She was born June 28, 1942 in Forsyth County to the late Thomas French Phipps and Frances Thomas Phipps. Boots was an active and loving member of Woodland Baptist Church and in her later years worked as a substitute teacher for Woodland’s Christion School. She retired from RJ. Reynolds Tobacco Company and maybe most importantly loved and adored the time she got to spend with her great grandbabies. In addition to her parents Boots was preceded in death by her loving husband William “Bill” Head, a granddaughter; Kaylan Hughes and two sisters; Janet “Teenie” Owen and Patricia “Pat” Cheek. She is survived her daughter; Angela Ely (Bobby), four grandchildren; Ashley Bohannon (Jake), Grey Hughes (Maggie), Britni Ely, Austin Ely, four great grandchildren; Skyler Bohannon, Kayleb Bohannon, Emma Hughes, Scarlett Hughes, and a sister; Jackie Phipps. A graveside service will be conducted 3:30PM Monday July 24, 2023 at Rural Hall Memorial Park with Rev. Tim Gammons officiating. The Family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 3:00PM Monday July 24 at Woodland Baptist Church.
