Janice Reynolds Adams passed away peacefully at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on February 13, 2025, with her loving family by her side. Janice was born in Yadkinville, NC on January 11, 1952, to Walter and Eva (Dinkins) Reynolds. Janice was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was a true southern lady who cherished her relationships with family and friends. Janice graduated from Forbush High School in Yadkinville, NC in 1970 and went on to attend Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. She graduated in 1974 with a degree in Sociology and quickly began her first (and only) job at Bowman Gray School of Medicine (later Wake Forest University School of Medicine) where she worked for 37 years. Janice was the departmental administrator for Comparative Medicine and highly respected, trusted, and well-loved by her colleagues. She was the go-to person for any question. There she would make lifelong friendships and meet her husband, Dr. Michael Adams. She was a loving and devoted wife who cared for Michael during his many years of illness. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her Southern Sisters, gardening, baking, spring breaks at the Outer Banks of NC, volunteering at Crisis Control Ministries, but most of all just spending time with her loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Eva Reynolds, and her husband Michael in 2020. She is survived by her daughter, Susan and her husband Drew Barber, and the absolute joys of her life, her grandchildren Addison (16) and Noah (12). Janice will be remembered as a kind, gentle, soft spoken, and compassionate soul who will be missed by many. To know her was to love her. Janice’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Stokes County team at Trellis Supportive Care and to the caregivers of Teddy Angels Homecare who cared for Janice during her illness. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that donations be made in Janice’s honor to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to the Lewy Body Dementia Association to further their research of this devastating disease. There is no service planned at this time.
