Mrs. Janeth McNeill Coward Pulliam, 88, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Covenant Village in Gastonia, NC. She was born July 8, 1932 in Hickman, Kentucky to the late Helen Rice McNeill and Dee Louis McNeill. She attended All Saints Episcopal School in Vicksburg, Mississippi and graduated from Hickman High School. Mrs. Pulliam graduated from Draughon’s Business College in Winston-Salem, NC. She retired from NC Baptist Hospital, now Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in the insurance department. Janeth was a long-time member of Konnoak Baptist Church and a attended the Loyalty Sunday School Class. Her greatest joy was cooking for family and friends who especially loved her pound cakes. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Luther James Coward, Jr.; second husband, Homer Franklin Pulliam; two brothers, Preston Louis McNeill (Ann) and Roy Rice McNeill; and stepson, Darrell Pulliam. Janeth is survived by children: James Dee Coward, Alison Bost Coward, Steven Louis Coward (Anita), and Janet Coward Jones (Rick); stepdaughter, Donna Settle; six grandchildren: Brandon Coward (Kelly), Anna Coward Hall (Nich), Riley Jones Grubb (Web), Natalie Jones Vaden (Ross), Melissa Keeton, and Sarah Pulliam; and great-grandchildren: Landon Hall, Molly Kate Hall, Brooks Hall, Regan Coward, Penn Grubb, Carrie Barlow, and Olivia Barlow. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 7th at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. John Bishop officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Konnoak Baptist Church, 400 McLean Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27127 or Covenant Village, 1351 Robinwood Road, Gastonia, NC 28054.
