Janet Marie Lovas Rachlin

Mrs. Janet Marie Lovas Rachlin, of Lewisville, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at her home. She was born August 21, 1929 in Passaic, New Jersey to Betty Oprendek and John Emericus Lovas. Mrs. Rachlin was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She retired from Wake Forest University as an Assistant Director of the Graylyn International Conference Center. Mrs. Rachlin worked on Wall Street and was Executive Assistant to the Chairman of the Board for Republic Steel. She later became an executive with Curtiss-Wright Corporation, where she traveled internationally. She also was a prolific reader, impeccable writer and a gourmet cook. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Ed Rachlin; two daughters, Gwen Durrill (Steve) and Jackie Rachlin Flynn; three grandchildren, Ryan Flynn, Johnnie Flynn and Mackenzie Durill. The family will have a Private Memorial Service at Holy Family Catholic Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC, 27103.
