Janet Griffin

Mrs. Janet Smith Griffin, 69, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021. She was born January 12, 1952, to the late Thomas McLean and Ina Lois Gordon Smith in Forsyth County. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Janet was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in King and loved her church family. She was very active in her Women’s sewing group and loved to travel especially on her motorcycle. Janet also loved watching her grandchildren in sound competitions and theater shows. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her three siblings, David Smith, Tommy Smith, and Susan Whiteheart. She is survived by her loving husband, Terry Griffin; children, Tina Hamilton (Eddie) and Wayne Griffin (Valerie); six grandchildren, Rachel, Tamara, Kyle, Tripp, Wyat, and Nate; and three great-grandchildren, Violet, Autumn, and Greyson. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church in King with Pastor Kevin Broyhill officiating. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Walnut Cove, NC. The family will receive friends Monday, December 27,2021, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in King.
