Janet Davis Christian

Janet Davis Christian of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at The Oaks at Forsyth. She was born December 29, 1921 in Forsyth County to Walter Clarence and Hattie Jackson Davis. She was a 1939 graduate of Brevard College. Janet was of the Methodist faith and was retired from Hanes Knitting after 22 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William S. Christian, a brother and 2 sisters. Surviving are her sister, Phyllis Davis, of Winston-Salem; 2 half sisters; a step sister; and 4 step brothers. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Gary Bodford officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Forsyth Humane Society, 61 Miller Street, W-S, N.C. 27113 or to the American Red Cross, Northwest Chapter, 690 Coliseum Dr., WS, N.C. 27106.
