Janet Wall Lawson Brown

Ms. Janet Wall Lawson Brown, 74, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away peacefully on October 4th, 2015 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Forsyth County on January 25th, 1941 to the late Porter Kermit Wall and the late Georgia Arrington McCullum. Her step father was the late Curtis B. McCullum. She was devoted to her career of 39 years at Harris Teeter. The family wishes to thank the Harris Teeter team for all your love and support. Our mother loved her job and her work family and they loved her. She was a devoted member of New Hope Methodist Church for most of her life and was active in many groups and roles. She was loved and respected by her church family and friends. Thank you to all her friends from New Hope for the countless cards, calls and visits. Everyone who was blessed to have known our Mom knows she is with her Lord and Savior and she will be missed. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Lawson Jones and Kimberly's husband Steve Jones of Piney Creek, NC; her son Timothy Lawson and his wife Wendy Lawson of Kernersville; her brother, friend and constant companion Kermit Wall of Rural Hall and his wife Judy Wall. Janet and Kermit were very close and spent countless hours helping one another. She is also survived by her first love, husband and father of her children Luke Lawson; her second husband Terry Brown; five grandchildren and their spouses: Nikki Jargowsky, Amber Bradshaw and Brad Bradshaw, Taylor Lawson Williamson and Alex Williamson, Evan Lawson, and Sage Lawson; 4 great grandchildren: Tyler, Lexie and Chase Chambers, and Dylan Bradshaw; 2 nieces Tona Leitner and Suzanne Griffin; and several cousins. A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Wednesday October 7th at 6:00 pm at New Hope United Methodist Church at 5125 Shattalon Dr. Winston-Salem, NC 27106. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice & Palliative Care Center at 101 Hospice Ln. Winston-Salem NC 27103 or to New Hope Methodist Church. We would like to thank the caregivers at Hospice for their gift of compassion and support to our family.
