Mrs. Janet Leigh Marion Allen, 70, entered peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by her loving family as they recited the Lord’s Prayer on Tuesday evening, December 15, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center. II Timothy 4, 7 NIV- “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Janet was born in Surry Co. on August 5, 1950 the daughter of the late Jerry Elwell Marion and Stella Irene Marion. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and retired from Forsyth Medical Center as a registered nurse. Janet was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, who will be missed deeply by all who knew her. She loved to read, work in her flower gardens, travel, spend time at the beach, but most importantly she loved her family and spending precious time with them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Aubrey Franklin Marion, Johnny Gray Marion and Jerry Thomas “Tommy” Marion; a brother-in-law, Jerry Laymond O’Neal; and her cocker spaniel, Sebastian. Janet is survived by her two daughters, Amy Allen Parrish (Steve) of Pinnacle and Christi Allen Sawyers of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, Brett Sawyers, Dillon Sawyers and Nate Parrish; two great-grandchildren, Ayden and Logan; five sisters, Phyllis Chilton (Conrad) of Pinnacle, Brenda O’Neal of Pinnacle, Linda Henley of Pilot Mountain, Sandy Smith (Robert) of Pilot Mountain and Mary Peters of Winston-Salem; two sisters-in-law, Bettie Marion of Pinnacle and Barbara Marion of Mount Airy; a special cousin, Elizabeth Jackson (Ken) of Clemmons and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. An outside memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in front of Fairview United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall with Rev. Duncan Martin officiating. Outdoor seating will be provided, but for those who wish to remain in their vehicle, you may tune in to 1610 AM, where the service will be transmitted. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family encourages all in attendance to please wear masks and social distance, in accordance with Covid19 protocols. The family would like thank the doctors and nurses in the CVSU ICU at Forysth Medical Center for the compassion and care.
