Janedia Leonard Bunn passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, in her home at Trinity Elms Independent Living in Clemmons, NC, at the age of 99.
She was born in Forsyth County to the late Fred Otis Leonard Sr. and Carrie Sink Leonard.
She was a member of Mt Tabor United Methodist Church. She spent most of her life in retail sales working for Cahill and Swaim, Bocock Stroud, and Lamps & Shades until the age of 93. She loved her job, the people she worked with, and her customers that became friends. She was a compassionate, loving mother to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. As she set the example, they returned that love with visits, calls, cards and goodies. She was very proud of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Joe H. Phillips; second husband, James A. Bunn Sr; her daughter, Jane Phillips Rivers; grandson, Jason F. Verheyen; her sister, Kathleen L. Myers; and her brother, Fred O. Leonard.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Phillips Mason (Wayne) of Mocksville, NC; grandchildren, Jody S. Mason of Winston-Salem, NC, Amy Mason Hutton (Chris) of Lewisville, NC, Rodney W. Mason of Winston-Salem, NC, and Emily Verheyen Craycroft (Matt) of High Point, NC; and great-grandchrildren, Jake Hutton, Luke Hutton, Tucker Verheyen, Jack Craycroft and Isabelle (Izzie) Craycroft. A special thanks to her stepson, Jim Bunn, for the love and kindness he has shown her over the years.
Thanks to the staff and residents of Trinity Elms Independent Living for their love and fun times during her last years. She loved living there.
