Jane Wilcox

Jane Carol Austin Wilcox passed away February 22, 2023, at Homestead Hills Skilled Care Facility in Winston-Salem. She was born January 27, 1935, the daughter of Myrle and Walter Austin in Winston-Salem. She graduated from Hanes High School in Winston-Salem and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Jane was married on June 28, 1958, to David H. Wilcox, III of Kingsport, TN. She was an Army wife of David and lived in Smithfield, VA for two years where son, Michael David was born, and three years in Okinawa, Japan where daughter, Laura Kay was born. Jane moved back to Winston-Salem with David until her death. During her final years she was afflicted by macular degeneration and rheumatoid arthritis. She is survived by husband, David of the home; son, Michael David Wilcox of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Laura Neal and husband, Mark of Webster Groves, MO; grandsons, Carter Wilcox of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Dylan Neal and wife, Natalie of Detroit, MI. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev.
