Mrs. Jane Baptist Shore, 75, of Winston-Salem, departed this life to join our Lord's church triumphant on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Brookridge Retirement Community. Born August 29, 1936 in Charlottesville, Virginia to Harry Lewis and Helen Marshall Baptist. Mrs. Shore was a loving wife and mother. Dedicated to the church of her Lord Jesus Christ where she labored tirelessly, she richly blessed the lives of those who knew her. She loved to cook, read, sew, quilt, needle point, praise her children, and admire her grandchildren. She was a loyal worker for many years at Integon Insurance Company, and she enjoyed traveling and supporting the Davidson Wildcats and Washington Redskins with her husband. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harry Lewis Baptist, III. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, the Rev. Burwell J. Shore, III; a daughter, Deborah Stewart of Eugene, OR; a son, Keith Shore and wife Karen of Lewisville; grandchildren, Brian Hamilton, Jonathan Stewart, Elizabeth Stewart, and Emily Shore; a brother, Edward Baptist and wife Lynda of Durham; plus many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a brother-in-law, Robert Shore and wife Mary Beth of Charlotte. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 27 at Clemmons Presbyterian Church with Dr. William Hoyle, the Rev. Jay Banasiak, and Dr. Judson Milam officiating. Following her memorial service, her ashes will be inurned in the church's columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Clemmons Presbyterian Church, 3930 Clemmons Road, Clemmons, NC 27012; to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 3627 Konnoak Drive, Winston-Salem NC 27127; to WDAV 89.9, Box 8990, 423 N. Main Street, Davidson, NC 28035-8990; or to a charity of the donor's choice. The family thanks the staff at Baptist Hospital and Brookridge for their skilled, dedicated, and loving care of Mrs. Shore during her five week struggle with illness.
