Jane Grasso

Jane Doris Benson Grasso, 90, passed away February 7, 2021 at WakeMed Hospital in Cary NC.  She was born October 30, 1930 to Harry Oscar Benson and Florence M. Beresford Benson in New Jersey.  In addition to living in New jersey, Jane lived in North Dakota for 5 years and moved to North Carolina in 1977.  Jane loved to travel, loved the beach and the water. George and Jane owned a motor home that they enjoyed, traveling to Florida and the Carolina Beaches.  She spent a lot of time on Topsail Island, NC.  Her favorite trip was a cruise through the Panama Canal with George.  She painted in oils and acrylics.  She built porcelain dolls.  She loved pottery and china.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband George of 67 years, a daughter; Gale Susan G. Mabe, granddaughter Tammy and great granddaughter Piper.

Surviving her are two daughters; Diane G. (Dave) Wilson, Wendy G. (Bill) Peterson, seven grandchildren; David N. (Kimberly) Wilson, Kristie L. (Melissa) Wilson, Charles R. Wilson, Jillian E. Mabe, Alex J. Peterson, Michael A. Peterson, Jessie D. (Chad) Yarborough, five great grandchildren; Katy Wilson, Lucas Wilson, Zane Mabe, Keagan Matlock, Carter Yarborough and Libby Yarborough; one sister Karen B. Washington.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Mt. Gur Cemetery in Kernersville, NC with Pastor Reggie Kimbro officiating.
