Jane Christie

Mary “Jane” Andrew Christie, 79, passed away August 12, 2022.

Jane was born October 5, 1942 in Buncombe County, NC to the late Woodrow Wilson Andrew and Melva Athlene Ramsey Andrew.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her two siblings, Sandra Andrew Mahovlich and Robert Neil Andrew and the father of her children, Frank Burton Christie III.

She is survived by three children: Shannon Christie Curran (Joe), Frank Burton Christie IV (Stephanie), and Brandon Neil Christie; five grandchildren: Samantha Curran Jarrett (Kyle), Sydney Curran Kostelic (Phillip), Skyler Mary Curran, Maxine Jane Christie, and Leah Chandra Christie; eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Stephen L. Mahovlich, sister-in-law, Sherrie C. Andrew; and three nephews.

Jane was loved and will be missed by many. She had a creative soul that included creating/painting barn quilts, framing, gardening and preparing many great family meals for all to enjoy. She loved her family beyond measure especially her children who she “loved more than life”. Jane also enjoyed walking on Ocean Isle Beach with her granddaughters in search of the perfect shell. She had an amazing smile that will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. We love you Mama/GMa/GG.

The family would like to thank the staff at Clemmons Village I for all their outstanding care and compassion that Jane received in her last days.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 5:00 -7:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.  In lieu flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
