Jane Steelman Burton

KERNERSVILLE - Jane Steelman Burton, 57, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born September 5, 1955 in Forsyth Co. to the late James Walter Steelman, Sr. and Mary Louise Hedgecock Steelman. Jane was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church and was employed 31 years with AT&T. She loved spending time at Myrtle and Holden Beach, but most of all she loved the time she spent with her family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard ""Ricky"" Leon Burton. Surviving are her brother, J.W. Steelman, Jr. and wife, Shelby; two nephews, Kenny Steelman, Tim Steelman and wife, Carrie; sister-in-law, Sandra Rose and husband, Larry; niece, Alyssa Hutchens and husband, Michael; one brother-in-law, Wayne Burton; nieces, Allison Dickins, Erica Burton; many special cousins and friends; and a very special friend, David Fletcher. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Roberson, Rev. Frank Shumate and Rev. Ron Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Gur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
