James "Jim" Nixon, Jr.

James “Jim” Robert Nixon Jr., 84, of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 27th, 2022.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory, 6135 Ridgecrest Point, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Susie M. Nichols Nixon and James Robert Nixon Sr.; his sister, Bertha J. Nixon Bray; his brothers, William Thomas Nixon, Governor Wayne Nixon, and Gilbert Ray Nixon; half-sister, Mary Helen Vaughn; and his son, Dino Vann Nixon.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Susie Heflin Nixon; daughters, Trina Joyce and Celia Mathis (Allen); daughter-in-law, Diane Nixon; and son, James Ray Nixon. He is also survived by his grandchildren, James LeBaube, Brandon Crews, John LeBaube, Chad Nixon, and Christy Nixon Goins; and his great grandchildren, Cameron Cannady, Isaac Cannady, Rylee Goins,  Jay LeBaube, Bradley LeBaube, Johnnie LeBaube, McKinley Nixon, and Lilly Nixon.

Jim enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, golfing, fishing and camping. He had a special love for animals and spending time with family and friends. He had a heart-warming smile and a contagious laugh.  He was friendly and welcoming to all.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations should be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 243 North Lee Ave. Yadkinville, NC 27055.
