James "Jim" Harrington

Mr. James “Jim” Ray Harrington, Sr., 86, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at his home. He was born on September 12, 1932 in Taylorsville to Dwight Edward Harrington and Gladys Elizabeth Duncan Harrington. Mr. Harrington worked at Taylor Brothers Tobacco Company, Hennis Freight Lines, Specter Red Ball, and Mark and Associates. He loved working on cars and watching racing. Mr. Harrington never met a stranger and was a very generous and caring person. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Lori Easter Harrington; two brothers, Connie Mack Harrington and Harry Gilbert Harrington. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen Livingston Harrington; two children, Sharon H. Fulp and husband Mike, James “Jim” Ray Harrington, Jr.; two grandchildren, Michael James Fulp, Jr., Monica Fulp Williams and husband Paul, sister, Kay Harrington Buchanan and husband Roger and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Rev. Michael Fulp officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
