James "Jamie" Shamel, Iii

James Henry “Jamie” Shamel, III, 47, passed away unexpectedly on June 12, 2022, at his home. He was born in Forsyth Co. on April 7, 1975, the son of James Henry Shamel, Jr. and Shawna Mae James Brannock. Jamie worked for ABF Trucking Co., driving long distance for over 20 years and was a member of The Journey Church of Lexington. He had a big heart and was loved by all. Jamie will be missed deeply by all who knew him. He loved working on his farm and working with his tractor. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bill James and his paternal grandparents, Jim and Irene Shamel. Jamie is survived by his child, Kash Lawson; his mother, Shawna Brannock (Zeke); his father, Jimmy Shamel (Robin); his grandmother, Betty James; two step-sons, Taylor Hovis and Josh Hayner; his aunt and uncle, Barbara and Dallas Edwards and many other extended family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Rev. Will Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 Wednesday evening at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel.
