Winston Salem-James Edgar ""Bud"" Williamson, 80, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born April 3, 1930 in Montgomery Co., NC to the late I.A. and Lola Maude Hogan Williamson. Bud was a member of Kernersville Moravian Church. He was a United States Army veteran, and retired from Central States Local 391 McLean Trucking Company in 1986. Music was his life, and Bluegrass was his passion. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Williamson; and two nephews, Tony and Andrew. Surviving are his wife, JoAnn Holden Williamson of the home; a daughter, Susan Williamson; a son, Christopher James Williamson both of Winston Salem; three step-children, Jeffery Wayne Martin and wife Misty, Elizabeth Ann Robinson and husband R.J., Jamie Lee Martin and wife Heather all of Kernersville; one sister, Dorothy Lambert of Robbins; and twelve step-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Kernersville Moravian Church with Rev. Don Winters officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 2:45 pm prior to the service, and 1:00-6:00 pm Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 632 S. Main St., Kernersville. Memorials may be made to Kernersville Moravian Church Pastor's Discretionary Fund, 504 S. Main St., Kernersville, NC 27284 Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Williamson family.
