James Donald Williams

James Donald Williams, 82, of Clemmons, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Brookridge Retirement Community. He was born in Forsyth County to Vallie Hancock Williams and Richard John Williams. Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Army and retired from McLean Trucking Company after 28 years of service. Don was a Christian man who spent his life serving others. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Flynn Williams and his daughter, Donna Leigh Williams. Surviving are one son, Jim Williams (wife Keri) of Lexington; two grandchildren, Benjamin Williams of Winston-Salem and Kaci Long (husband Will) of Winston-Salem. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and longtime neighbors. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. James C. Newsome, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2016 at the funeral home.
