James Willie Wilkerson

Mr. James Willie Wilkerson, 68, started his journey to eternal life, Sunday, March 26, 2017 at his residence. He was born July 19, 1948 in Burke County, NC the son of James and Mary Glass Wilkerson and was raised in Los Angeles, CA. He retired after 40 years of service as a truck driver from Overnight Express, was an avid coin collector, loved watching movies and enjoyed traveling. James was a very hard working, generous and loving man. James leaves behind his friend and wife, Linda Foster Wilkerson of the home; daughters, Wanda Headen (Phillip) of Winston-Salem, Keva Miller of Winston-Salem and Janeka Elizondo of Riverside, CA; sons, James Rodney Wilkerson, Reginald Miller (Shauna) and Kendrick Miller (Traci) all of Winston-Salem; sister, Rosia Avery of Marion; brothers, Morris Wilkerson (Kathy) 0f Paris, CA and Weldon Wilkerson of Los Angeles, CA; eighteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, April 2, 2017 at First Waughtown Baptist Church, 838 Moravia St., Winston-Salem, NC 27107 with Pastor Dennis Bishop officiating.
