James Preston Whited

Winston Salem - James Preston Whited, 72, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. He was born October 10, 1940 in VA to the late James and Lavenia Compton Whited. James was a very hard worker, he could fix anything. He loved to restore old cars, but most of all he loved being with his family. JP was not only a great dad to his children but he loved people in general. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Randy and David Whited. Surviving are his wife, Helen Marie Kastner Whited of the home; five children, Preston Dean Whited, Thomas Whited and wife, Robin, Marla LeMasters, Cindy Vogler, Johnnie Whited and wife, Dana; ten grandchildren, Brandon LeMasters, PJ Whited and wife, Nicole, Selena Blake and husband, Chris, Kyle Whited, Grant LeMasters, Joshua Whited, Hannah Vogler, Bruce Whited, Cody Whited, and Aaron Vogler; five sisters, Anita Ray, Betty Cole, Judy Miller, Karene Webb, and Donna Plaster. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, July 26, 2013 at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Kernersville with Pastor Jason Murray officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
