James William 'Jim' White, Sr.

Mr. James William ""Jim"" White, Sr., 75, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach. He was born August 27, 1938 in Forsyth Co. the son of Leonard M. White, Sr. and Sarah Williams White. Jim graduated from Northwest High School in Winston-Salem and attended Western Carolina College. He served our country in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. Jim was the owner/CEO of Home Health Care Associates Inc. in Stuart, VA and Martinsville, VA. He enjoyed walking on the beach, loved to travel, enjoyed all sports and was always ready to help someone in need. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Leonard M. White, Sr. He is survived by his wife Pat White, his three sons, Jim White, Jr. and wife Cindy of Stuart, VA, Jeff White of Monroe, NC and David White and girlfriend Shelley of Raleigh, NC, a grandson, Dillon White of Winston-Salem, four granddaughters, Tinsley White of Denver, CO, Carrie Ann White of Colorado Springs, CO, Emma White of Columbus, OH and Courtney White of Charlotte, NC, a brother, Leonard M. ""Mack"" White and wife Sandra of King and a sister, Nancy Swartzel and husband Marvin of Winston-Salem. A private graveside service will be conducted Friday, September 20, 2013. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 this evening, Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The family asks that everyone do a good deed for someone who needs it in his memory.
