Mr. James Turner Walsh, Jr., 83, of Winston-Salem passed away February 4, 2011 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born February 16, 1927 in Forsyth County to the late James Turner Walsh, Sr. and Cornelia Church Walsh. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Everhart Walsh, and two brothers, Paul and Clauide Walsh and two sisters, Genevia Siceloff and Opal Sharp. Mr. Walsh was a charter member of Konnoak Hills United Methodist Church and was active in the Methodist Men's Fellowship. He was a graduate of Gray High School Class of 1944 and served in the U.S. Navy on an LST during WWII. He retired from Pilot Freight Carriers as a Claims Prevention Director after 43 years of service. Mr. Walsh is survived by a number of nieces and nephews and by a special friend, Virginia Mahaffey. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, February 7, 2011 at Konnoak Hills United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until 5:00pm on Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
