Mr. James Vernon Tuttle, Sr., 92, of Kernersville, died Sunday December 28, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born July 27, 1916 in Stokes County to Roy Clady and Myrtle Elizabeth Redmon Tuttle. Mr. Tuttle retired from Container Corp. of America and attended First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruby Gray Tuttle; 1 daughter, Mrs. Patsy Jean Tuttle Nixon, of Winston-Salem; 3 sons, James Vernon Tuttle, Jr. and wife Shirley, of Indialantic, FL, Ronald Gray Tuttle and wife Barbara, of Kernersville and Roy Scott Tuttle and wife Tracie, of Winston-Salem; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. A graveside service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Rosebud Christian Church Cemetery in Walnut Cove with Rev. Tim Wolfe officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 998 Hutton St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
