Mr. James Franklin Tesh, 75, of Lexington passed away May 28, 2010 at his residence. He was born May 14, 1935 in Davidson County to the late Woodrow and Kathleen Sink Tesh. Mr. Tesh was a member of Enterprise Moravian Church and was a former Sunday School Teacher. He served for many years on the Board of Trustees and was a member of the Moravian Band for over 50 years. He was a graduate of North Davidson High School and coached Little League baseball for a number of years. Mr. Tesh was Past President of the Booster Club and Past President of the Lion's Club where he was awarded the Lion's Club Distinguished Service Award and he was also awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. He was retired from RJR Archer and enjoyed playing golf and traveling while his health permitted. Mr. Tesh was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Tesh, a brother, Dale Tesh, and a step-great-granddaughter, Angelica Reid. He is survived by his loving wife, Polly Tesh of the home; sons, Ronnie Tesh, and Brian Tesh (Renee); a granddaughter, Ashley Tesh; a grandson, Kure Lee Tesh; two brothers, Herbert Tesh (friend, Pinky), Jerry Tesh (Nancy); two sisters, Marvelle Foltz and Mary Ann Mode (Charles); a sister-in-law, Roxie Lanier (Ashby); a daughter-in-law, Linda Smith (David); step-great-grandchildren, Lacey and Mia Reid. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, May 31, 2010 at Enterprise Moravian Church with the Rev. Keith White and the Rev. Norwood Green officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Sunday, May 30th at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to thank the nurses from Hospice and to James' Chemo Nurses and Dr. Zekan and Dr. Cullen.
