James Luther Starling

Mr. James Luther Starling, 77, passed away August 25, 2014. He was born August 12, 1937 in Forsyth County to the late George William Starling, Sr. and Hattie Ann Price Starling. Mr. Starling was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 until 1955 and subsequently served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 until 1975. After retirement from his military service he was employed with Champion Industries for 20 years, AMSCO for 5 years and Wake Forest Baptist Health for 13 years. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Audrey Bell, George William Starling, Jr. and O'Quinn Jackson. Mr. Starling is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Jean Carol Brookshire Starling; his daughter, Stephanie Starling and husband Jeff Griffin; two sons, Keith Starling and wife Beth and Steven Starling and fiancée Nicole Martin; three grandchildren, Chase Edwards, Dylan Edwards, and Weston Edwards; a brother, John Lee Starling and wife Faith. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Chuck Halipilias officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Mt.
