Mr. James Carl Saylor, 80, of Clemmons, passed away Monday, August 1, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born September 14, 1930 in Forsyth County and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1965. He was retired from Western Electric, and later worked for Calvary Baptist Church for 7 years as Building Manager and in various other capacities. He also served on the Building Committee for the church for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Sue Hall Saylor; parents, Roy and Stella Saylor; brothers, Joe, Frank and Ray; and sister, Pearl. Surviving are his wife, Florence Inman Stokes Saylor; three children, Debbie Harris (Tom) of Savannah, GA, Greg Saylor (Terry) of Acworth, GA, and Carol Gossett (J.R.) of Greensboro, NC; step-children, Olen Stokes (Joy) of Cary, NC and Dena Moye (Robert) of Birmingham, AL; five grandchildren, Eric, Drew, Luke, Matt and Mandy; two great grandchildren, Cullen and Saylor; three step grandchildren, Heather, Brian and Lindsey; and a sister, Betty. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Al Gilbert and Dr. Gary Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 3 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
