Mr. James ""Jim"" Robert Sandy, 76, of Walkertown, passed away Saturday, June 06, 2015 at his residence. He was born on July 27, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio to Cleo Loy and Paul Sandy. Mr. Sandy retired from Teamsters local #391 and retired from Pilot Freight Carriers with over thirty years of service. He was a member of Kernersville Masonic Lodge #669 and a member of Shrine Club of Winston-Salem where he was on the transport team for Shriner's Children's Hospital in Greenville, S.C. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jeannie Sandy of the home; three children, Ronel Duggins of Madison, Vince Sandy and wife Sheri of Clemmons, Paula Wootten and husband John of Walnut Cove; two step-sons, Anthony Castevens and wife Amee of Winston-Salem, Michael Castevens and wife Angie of Mocksville; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM Monday, June 8, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605. The family wishes to thank the staff at Hospice of Stokes County for the loving care given to Jim.
