James “Coyte” Riley

Mr. James ""Coyte"" Riley, 79, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 27, 1933 in Gaston County, NC to Harry Brown and Emma Mayberry Riley. Mr. Riley was a member of Winston-Salem First Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was retired from Davidson County Schools with 26 years of service. He was a former Pentecostal Holiness minister serving Hillsborough, NC, Patrick Springs, VA, Bethany Church in Appomatox, VA, Newton, NC, and Troy, NC. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Riley, and his second wife, Muriel Reece Riley. Surviving are his wife, Betty Reece Roberts Riley; four children, Wesley Riley of Hickory, Beverly Martin (Guy) of Zebulon, Greg Riley (Kim) of Charlotte, and Nancy Riley of Zebulon; and one grandchild, Hunter Martin. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 29 at Winston-Salem First Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Tim Wolfe officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Zebulon, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the church prior to the service.
