James Proctor

Mr. James “Benny” Proctor, 75, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022.  He was born June 25, 1946, in Surry County to the late James and Nancy Proctor.  Benny was a faithful member of Friedberg Moravian Church.  He was well known in the automotive industry and was a member of the Corvette Club of Winston-Salem.  In addition to his parents, Benny is preceded in death by his sister, Eleisa Joyner.  He is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Proctor; daughter, Amy Marks; two grandchildren; sister, Judy Darnell (Bill); two K9 companions, Lacie and Chocolate Chip; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice nurse Nancy Sellars for her continuing and loving care.  A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday February 13th at Friedberg Moravian Church with Rev. Jim Newsome, Jr. and Rev. Dan Nelson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church graveyard.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, February 12th at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.  In lieu flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
