James Richard Phan

Mr. James Richard Phan, 73, of Clemmons, NC formerly of Seven Hills, OH died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Phan was born February 3, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio a son of the late Michael A. Phan and the late Marquerite Dhaemens Phan. He was retired from The Ohio Operating Engineers Local 18 with 40 years of service. In 1959 he met his wife while roller skating and skating became an important part of their lives. He loved fishing, watching his birds and working with his hands. He loved to fix things. Mr. Phan was an advocate for organ donation and he was able to give the gift of sight. He truly loved his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Diana Scherer Phan, son, James Phan, Jr. and his wife Jane, and daughter, Jadene Davidson, grandchildren, Rebecca Phan, and Michael Phan, brother, Albert Phan, and sister, Margaret Peden. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:30 PM Friday, November 13, 2009 at Bainbridge Community United Church of Christ 17751 Chillicothe Rd. (Rt. 306) Bainbridge, Ohio 44023.
