James Robert P. J." Pettyjohn, Sr.

Mr. James R. ""P. J."" Pettyjohn, Sr., 60, of Winston-Salem died Sunday, August 23, 2009 at his home. He was born October 19, 1948 in Forsyth County, the son of the late William Robert and Vera Newsome Pettyjohn. Mr. Pettyjohn was of the Baptist faith and was employed by B. E. Areospace for the past 18 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Pettyjohn and a sister, Becky Frye. Survivors include his wife, Norma O. Pettyjohn of the home; one son, James R. ""Rob"" Pettyjohn, Jr.; one daughter, Patches Tetreault and husband, Mike; one grandson, Joseph Tetreault; one granddaughter, Ryan Tetreault; and one sister, Brenda Rothrock and husband, Arch all of Winston-Salem and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 pm at Fraternity Church of the Brethren with Rev. David Kindy officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fraternity Church of the Brethren, 3760 Fraternity Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127 or Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
