James Peddycord

passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living. James was born on July 19, 1932 in Forsyth County to Thomas Grady and Allie Pope Peddycord. He was a 1950 graduate of Walkertown High School and served in the US Army from 1953 - 1955. James was a member of Providence Moravian Church and retired from Sears Roebuck with 50 years of service. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Minnie Sue Peddycord; and siblings, Jack, John R., and Linda. Surviving are his daughter, Saprina Smith (Fred); two sons, Daniel Peddycord (Angie), Randy Peddycord (Ann); six grandchildren, Derrick, Corey, Lauren, Travis, Brooke and Trey; 12 great grandchildren; one brother, Wayne Peddycord; and a special friend, Jean Cain. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Robert M. Peek, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
