James Sebren Norton

Mr. James Sebren Norton, 90, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 20, 2017.

James was born May 10, 1926 in Madison County, NC to Kelly and Ornan Norton. Over the years, he worked as a barber for many shops in Winston-Salem, forming many lasting friendships. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by sisters, Mary and Hettie, and brothers, Olin, Zane, and Burland.

James is survived by his daughter, Sharon Elaine Norton; sisters, Velma Norton Fox and husband RB, Nancy Norton Crain and husband Truman, and Gail ""Tiny"" Norton Lloyd and husband Rev. Doyle Lloyd; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 2 pm at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Mausoleum Chapel.

James's family would like to extend a special thank you to Penny Fox, Renee Snider, and Becki Snider for their care of James during his illness, as well as the staff of Southfork Assisted Living. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 225 Davie Avenue, Statesville, NC 28677.
