Mr. James ""Jimmy"" Howard Nixon, 55, of Winston-Salem, passed away August 19, 2011 after a brief illness. He was born September 16, 1955 in Forsyth County to Violet Salyers Nixon DeCristofaro and Ralph Eugene Nixon. Mr. Nixon was in the printing industry for over 25 years and was an avid outdoorsman with a love for animals, fishing, gardening, golfing and grilling with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Michael Robert DeCristofaro; a brother, Tommy Nixon and a brother-in-law, Joe Keasler. Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Louise Nixon; one son, Jeremy Nixon; two brothers, Ralph Nixon (Rhonda) and Bill Nixon; one sister, Nita Keasler, all of Winston-Salem. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Forsyth Humane Society, 61 Miller St., Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
