STOKESDALE-James Anderson Motsinger, 73, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born February 21, 1937 in Forsyth Co. to the late Boyd Smith and Ethel Chappell Motsinger. James was a lifelong member of Sedge Garden United Methodist Church and a member of the Manuel Sunday School class where he enjoyed many years of fellowship. He was self-employed for over 50 years and derived great pleasure from his work. James developed, graded, excavated and farmed the land. His passions were horses and cattle ranching. He was richly blessed with a full life of family and friends. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Yvonne ""Vonnie"" Rickard Motsinger of the home; two daughters, Kim Motsinger Stanley and husband, Bill, Kay Motsinger Bailey and husband Scott; one grandson, Thad Stanley; one sister, Myrtis Motsinger Holder; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Sedge Garden United Methodist Church with Rev. Patricia Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
