Mr. James ""Jimmy"" Franklin Moffitt, Sr., 70, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at his home after fighting a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born April 29, 1944 in Forsyth County to John Dee and Polly Yates Moffitt. Mr. Moffitt was of the Baptist faith. He was owner and operator of James Moffitt Plumbing Company for the past 15 years. He loved to play golf at Maple Leaf Golf Course as well as being an avid bowler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Moffitt. Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Gail Moffitt; two sons, James ""Jim"" Franklin Moffitt, Jr. of Winston-Salem and Jeffrey ""Scott"" Moffitt and wife Leslie of Kernersville; two grandchildren, Hailee Gail and Dylan Scott Moffitt; two sisters, Susie and Debby; three brothers, William, Wayne, and Terry Moffitt; 23 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 at Oaklawn Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Boyce officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
