James Mitchell

Mr. James Lenwood Mitchell, 89, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Oak Forest Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born October 8, 1928 in Patrick County, VA to the late Lonis Blaine Mitchell and Trudy Ethel Beasley Mitchell. In addition to his parents James is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Andrews Mitchell and a granddaughter, Amber Kristina Swing. He is survived by three sons: Ronald Mitchell (Susan), Robert Mitchell (Robin), and Timothy Mitchell (Lisa); twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret M. Key, and one brother, John B. Mitchell. A funeral service will be conducted 2:30 PM Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor David Wood officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 6 PM to 8 PM Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Crestwood Baptist Church, 530 Motor Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Judy Hauser and Aunt Margaret for their special care given to Mr. Mitchell.
