James Herbert Miller

Mr. James Herbert Miller, 87, passed away on February 10, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on January 9, 1930 to Polly Ann Bowman in Forsyth County. James served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his military service he was employed by RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company, retiring with 37 years of service. He was a member of Advent Moravian Church. James was preceded in death by his wife, Elva Teague Miller; and a son, James Keith Miller. Surviving are his son, Terry F. Miller; daughter, Susan Miller Yow (Al); 4 grandchildren, Amy Belcher (Michael), Joshua and Amanda Foster, Chris Miller; 3 great grandchildren; and a brother, Bernie ""Tommy"" Miller (Ruth). A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Advent Moravian Church with Rev. Dr. Tim Sapp officiating. Interment will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Forsyth County Senior Services, 2895 Shorefair Dr., Winston-Salem, NC 27105. The family would like to extend a special ""thank you"" to Tamara Salley for her care and compassion for James.
