James Richard McInnis, 76, of Winston-Salem passed away April 16, 2015. James was born October 12, 1938 in Forsyth County to Elmer Richard and Huron Bondurant McInnis. He was an active member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. He retired from R. J. Reynolds Archer Packaging after 30 years of service. James was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was an avid bowler. James loved the outdoors. He loved fishing, working in his yard, and his Koi pond. James loved to travel, especially to Europe. He also loved electronics. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his stepmother Elizabeth Brantley McInnis. He is survived by his wife Linda McInnis; 2 sons Todd McInnis and wife Reba, and Brian McInnis; a daughter Lisa McInnis; 4 grandchildren Senior Airman Sean McInnis, Brittany McInnis, Tiffany McInnis, and Dylan McInnis; special friends David and Sandra Meredith, and his special bowling buddies. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday April 19, 2015 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Rev Joe Westfall, and Rev Mike Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday April 18, 2015 from 6 pm until 8 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shady Grove United Methodist Church building fund, or to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
