WALNUT COVE - James Monroe McGee, Jr., 59, loving father and husband, went to be with the Lord, Friday, November 27, 2009. James was born March 19, 1950, in Forsyth County to the late James Monroe, Sr. and Inez Moser McGee. He was a retired truck driver with 45 years of service and a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters. He is survived by his wife, Susan J. McGee, of the home; one son, Corporal James ""Jake"" McGee (wife, Amber) of Camp LeJeune; three sisters; mother and father-in-law, Harold and Bobbie Jones; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special cousin, Ricky Everhart. A celebration of Jimmy's life will be conducted at 4:00 pm Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Edgewood Baptist Church with Rev. Shawn Dobbs officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:45 pm on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Walnut Cove Fire Department, 527 N. Main Street, Walnut Cove, NC 27052 or Edgewood Baptist Church, 4067 Reidsville Road, Winston-Salem, NC, 27101. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the McGee Family.
