James Levan “Van” Dunn, 59, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 while working in Georgia. He was born June 28, 1964 in Forsyth County. Van was employed with Sumter Utilities as a lineman for many years. He was a lifelong outdoorsman dedicated to upland game conversation, waterfowl habitat restoration, and youth hunting initiatives. Van was preceded in death by his mother, Kaye Long Dunn, and stepmother Isa Gaye Hiatt Dunn. Surviving are his father, James Bell “J.B.” Dunn; two sons, Jacob Dunn (Karolina) and Isaac Dunn (Malgorzata); one sister, Lisa Lynn Dunn; two nieces, Chloe Shea Gordy and Ashley Brewer and a great niece, Kyler Prigmore. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Redland Church, IPHC with Mr. Tim Dunn officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel is serving the Dunn family.
