KERNERSVILLE - James William Lemons, Sr., 76, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at his home. James was born on November 3, 1935 in Forsyth County to the late Ernest Bradley and Stacie Simmons Lemons. James was a veteran of the US Marines, was a fan of racing and enjoyed fishing as long as his health permitted. He loved being with his family and always did for others, putting them first before himself ! In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara M. Lemons. Surviving are his daughter, Patricia Barton (Freddie) of Youngsville, NC; son, James W. Lemons, Jr. (Paula) of Kernersville; sister, Nancy C. Pierce (Calvin) of Rural Hall; four grandchildren, William Bradley Barton, Sarah Elizabeth Barton, Wesley Adam Lemons and Jordan Braxton Lemons; two great grandchildren, Lillie Marie Lemons and Maggie Ann Barton; a special friend, Shirley Robertson and a loving pet, Zipper. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Virgil Chitty and Rev. Paul Dean officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
