James Rubert Lawson

Mr. James Rubert Lawson, 77, of Walnut Cove passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born May 2, 1934 in Forsyth County to the late Nina and George Lawson. Mr. Lawson retired from Hanes Dye and Finishing with over 30 years of service. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Lawson; and six siblings. Surviving are two sons, Andy Lawson (Teresa) and Todd Lawson (Renee); a special granddaughter, Cathy Brown; step-granddaughter, Stephanie Allen (John); and two special granddogs, CoCo and BitBit. A Funeral Service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 29 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with the Rev. Randy Wall officiating. Burial will follow at Westmoreland Cemetery in King. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 28 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Stokes County EMS and the staff of FMC-ED.
