Mr. James William ""Jimmy"" Lawson, age 50, of Pinnacle, NC died Monday morning, May 27, 2013 at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC after an extended illness. He was born in Stokes County November 1, 1962 to William McCrea Lawson and Betty Flinchum Lawson Hill. Mr. Lawson was employed by Rock Tenn Corp. as a fork lift operator, and was a member of Friends Union Community Church. Jimmy enjoyed the out of doors hunting and fishing or just working in the yard or garden with his family. He enjoyed restoring old farm implements and working on cars. He is survived by his wife: Susan Stone Lawson, one son: William Hunter Lawson, of the home, his best four footed friend, Diesel, his mother and step-father: Betty Flinchum Hill and Pete Hill, Madison, NC, his paternal grandmother, Lillie Priddy Carter, Madison, NC. Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his father, William McCrea Lawson and a brother Joel McCrea Lawson. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday May 30, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Friends Union Community Church by Pastor Danny Hall and Rev. Clifford Willis. Burial will be in the Friends Union Community Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and at other times at the Lawson's home in Pinnacle.
