James Wiley 'J.W.' Kilby, Jr.

Mr. James Wiley ""J.W."" Kilby,Jr., 85, of Winston-Salem died Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born May 20, 1926 in Beaufort County, NC., the son of the late James Wiley Kilby, Sr. and Dora Berry Kilby. He was a member of St. Thomas Church in Bath, the state's oldest existing church. He was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Sears where he repaired watches for many years. He loved hunting and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Hazel Brinkley Kilby of the home; one daughter, Karen McGee and husband, Mac of Winston-Salem; one son, James Wiley Kilby, III and wife, Debbie of Kernersville; one grandson, Kevin McGee of Winston-Salem; one sister, Alva McPherson of Virginia Beach, VA and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted Friday at 3:00 PM at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jeff Harlow officiating.
