James Oscar Jones

Mr. James Oscar Jones, 90, of Winston-Salem, passed away November 26, 2010 at Clemmons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born May 21,1920 in Mt. Airy, NC to James Thomas and Lillie Bennett Jones. Mr. Jones served in the Air Force and the Army during World War II and was an honored recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Carlos W. Jones, George T. Jones and Bruce T. (Mary Ellen) Jones, and two grandchildren, Shannon Binkley and Christian Howell. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Ann Douglas Jones, one brother, Dennis H. (Hattie) Jones of Orlando, FL, one son, James Kent (Linda) Jones of Winston-Salem and one daughter, Bonnie (Henry) Binkley of Winston-Salem. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Paige (Derek) Todd, April (Michael) Boone, Carter (Michelle) Jones, Machelle Cooper, Chad (Marie) Cooper, Lance Binkley and 6 great-grandchildren, Drew Todd, Meredith Boone, Zach Foster, Savannah Foster, Henry Jones and Isabella Jones. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at Clemmons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their warm and gracious care of Mr. Jones. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 29, 2010 at Forsyth Memorial Park Cemetary with Dr. Bob McLawhorn officiating.
